Designing Authentic Learning
My goal is to design and develop digital age understanding and assessments which encourage authentic learning experiences, with a focus on reaching all of my students. I do this by incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context of student’s individual experiences and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards. Below are examples of the type of projects which I believe foster these goals.

c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.
For this project I had to create an online course with specific assessments and learning goals in mind, using different types of activities and technology in order to meet those requirements. I had to create a pedagogically-sound learning path for my future students. Starting with the course and learning goals listed in the document and then creating the assignments, assessments and and course work for the students.
Supports c and d of Standar II.
I am going to continue thinking about your sentence, "When you are in a F2F classroom environment, you get a full sensory learning experience." That is so true! This really made me think... how can we create this "full sensory" experience online, and would it look different online! ~ Dr. Bethany Simunich
Effective Online Teaching. ITEC-50093-004-201510
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
For this assignment, I had to create a welcome transcript for an online classroom I was creating. The transcript helps introduce the students to the instructor and sets up help and an open pathway if there are any questions. It was to help the instructor understand the importance of connection to the student and laying out the course prior to the class to help the course run smoother for both learner and teacher.

"Really nice job, Heather!:)
Your presentation was informative AND engaging... I really appreciated how you used both visual and audio elements to add interest and underscore the information you were sharing. I loved that you left off with telling them how to contact you." ---Dr. Bethany Simunich

d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.
This is a practical paper I wrote about some of the contributing factors for problems and atrition rates in online classes. I based mine on the influence of personalities on how the student peforms in their online learning and what to do to work with the students on an individual level.
